Gnocchi with Spinach & Cheese

So here is a cool little true story. I was in one of my Tommy Sugo restaurants back in 2016, and as chance would have it, I accidentally dropped one of our 5 cheese & spinach gnocchi into our deep fryer.

As intrigue got to me, I thought let’s make lemonade out of lemon and see what it tastes like. I pulled it out 3 minutes later, added some salt, dipped it in some Tommy Sugo napolitana sauce and OH MY GOOD LORDY! It tasted amazing! We cooked more up, gave loads out to our team and customers, and immediately added it to our menu as a “crispy gnocchi ball.” Deep fried, glorious and oozing cheese as you bite into it, they immediately became a best seller at our restaurants. Totally naughty as deep-fried food is, but totally amazing in flavour and texture.

So, if you are feeling a little naughty, deep fry these in some olive oil at 165C for 3 minutes from frozen, add some salt and dip in some of our Tommy Sugo Napolitana sauce for a ridiculously tasty stuffed 5 cheese & spinach gnocchi. Fluffy stuffed potato gnocchi balls filled with spinach, cheddar, ricotta, mozzarella, parmesan & romano cheese. When 4 cheeses in your gnocchi just doesn’t cut it and you need a 5th cheese, these have your name on them!

Brilliant with Tommy Sugo Napolitana sauce, stick to a tomato-based sauce because cream based will just be over the top with dairy!

Unique to Tommy Sugo, this is all about mixing it up and trying different foods with serious flavour. Seriously, don’t living in the boring realm, get some flavour in your world!
